The Legend of Korra (previously titled Korra) is an animated television series developed by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino for Nickelodeon. It follows the titular Avatar of the Air after the events of the original Avatar: The Last Airbender, in the year after the events of that series' finale. It was confirmed in October 2012, that Avatar would be taken off Nick's channel and moved to the Nicktoons Network. Like the original Avatar, the series is being produced by Korrasami, a joint venture between Nickelodeon and The Jim Henson Company.

There have been DVD releases by both Nickelodeon and Republic Pictures. The first release, on January 31, 2006, featured episodes from Seasons 1 through 4 as well as the 90-minute feature Spirit of the West. The DVD release was later re-released on November 29, 2008, featuring episodes from Seasons 5 through 7 in addition to a new episode, "Trial of Fire." The DVD release was re-released on November 10, 2009, featuring Seasons 8 and 9. In addition, Nickelodeon released The Complete Series of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a limited edition steelbook on June 24, 2014, featuring the 2-disc Blu-ray edition of AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER along with the DVD releases of both the original series and the sequel.

In Spring 2016, the BBC acquired the rights to broadcast the world-renowned cartoon series in the UK. The first episode aired on September 8, 2016. The series was created by Avatar: The Last Airbender creators, Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. Nickelodeon is co-producing the BBC version with Nickelodeon Studios, allowing for the characters and world to be shown as they were created in the American series. The first season of the BBC's Avatar: The Last Airbender consisted of six episodes, while the second season, set 10 years later in an ideal world on a more peaceful planet, had six episodes too. 3d9ccd7d82
