Description

“Tell’ us” is the story about a young woman and how her fate get entwined with the very fate of the Earth itself. Inspired by the long ago award winning game play from the game Flashback. Placed in a side scrolling 3D environment, you will climb, jump and explore mystic complex and nature environments to stop a conspiracy that could extinguish all life as you know it.

It's not dead.

Tell'us is far from dead, it's in my mind everyday. The problem is, since the team is split up with diffrent resposibilitys and i am under a contract where my company owns all code i make as long as i work here (since i might have come up with the idea at work) Tell'us is put of into the future. I have some planes setting up a new engine for simular games, but it won't be Tell'us, it will be something diffrent. Maybe something with E-Motion. We'll see.

Sounds like a good approach..

If the gameplay is good/fun enough, you can always take it to the next level later. When building a prototype, the barrier for the the designer/programmer to add new gameplay/features gets much lower, and its more easy to think like a designer through the hole process...

Change of plans

Jonas now works in England and Henrik is currently working on another SGA entry, so if we are going to get Tellus over the finishline I decided to continue this project by making a version of our prototype in 2D and add every gameplaymechanic in it. So even if it's not a 3dgame anymore, the key elements should still be there.

Actions

The standard actions the player can perform are. Jump up, jump forward, running djup, grab ledge, climb up/down, active (button computer etc in the depth of the screen) fire gun. duck, roll. You will see it from the side climbing, running, jumping to reach new areas. You will be locked in one depth. So even if we use 3D graphics, the gameplay will use 2D.

Welcome!

Sounds interesting and exciting if you succeed in the storytelling. Adventures are really difficult, what kind of actions is the character supposed to make? Will it be point and click or something completely different?
